About

I am a third generation woodworker with an AAS in cabinetry and architectural woodworking. We’re Located in Chattanooga Tennessee and serve the greater Chattanooga area and North Georgia.

I started out building dozens of skateboard ramps in my teen years to picture framing in my formative years. I went from picture framing to cabinetry, built-in’s and furniture with the tremendous help of a Mike Rowe Works Foundation grant. Today JMH Woodworking has evolved into a custom woodworking studio that specializes in cabinets, tables, and countertops. We provide a rare combination of quality craftsmanship and down to earth installation services. The materials for JMH Woodworking designs are locally and responsibly sourced here in Chattanooga, TN. We use a variety of environmentally friendly finishes and practices with sustainability and production schedules in mind.

Press

Most of the time our projects with client-partners get no more fanfare than a job well done and craftsmanship that ages gracefully in place. Most recently I had an honorable mention in a Vaporshield continuing ed. webinar for AIA. I’ve been featured as a Mike Rowe Works Foundation grant recipient. Several years ago now, a project we worked on with the Seattle based architectural firm Whitman | Estes was featured in Dwell Magazine. We’re honored to have worked with really great and talented people.
